DCJ maintains a strong partnership with local colleges and universities, regularly attending recruitment and career fairs. Many DCJ staff began as volunteers or practicum placements within the agency.
The volunteer/intern program offers students:
• Exposure to Parole & Probation services
• Shadow opportunities with community criminal justice partners
• Hands-on experience
• Mentorship from professionals
• 1x1 probation client interaction
Prospective volunteers are screened, personally interviewed and required to pass a background check before a selection is made.
