County Road 226

WILLIS ROAD - Dated to 1856 - Lies three miles northwest of McMinnville. It was named after O.C. Joyce and Amil Willis, long-time residents of the area.

CRS 3 - 60' WIDE - NOTE: This road survey was performed August 21, 1856, and within 5 months the courthouse in Lafayette had burned to the ground, destroying all Commissioners Journals and most road records. No road packet exists for this survey, likely due to the fire. The noted 60' width is assumed, not documented, due to the fire.
