Your Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) is responsible for law enforcement services throughout the 718 square miles of the county. Municipal police departments, such as Carlton, McMinnville, Newberg-Dundee, and Yamhill regularly patrol their own cities and YCSO provides supplemental support to those agencies.
Pursuant to ORS 190.010 and 206.345, your Sheriff’s Office also provides contractual law enforcement services for the cities of Amity, Dayton, Lafayette, Sheridan, and Willamina. The contract, established in partnership with each city government, funds police services and all general law enforcement services at levels established in the respective contract for each city. Each city benefits from the following services: communications dispatch, records and statistical data, civil services, evidence collection and storage, processing and service of warrants, as well as drug enforcement and interdictions. In addition, contract cities benefit from the YCSO membership on the Yamhill County Major Crime Response Team (MCRT).
