Noxious Weed Control

We work to identify and control invasive weeds that threaten local ecosystems and agriculture. Our program prioritizes species designated as noxious by state and county regulations. We use an integrated approach, including mechanical/manual, biological control, cultural control, and herbicide applications. Residents can report infestations on roadsides

Habitat Restoration & Conservation

Key maintenance activities include:

• Mowing: Regular mowing keeps vegetation at safe levels, reduces fire risk, and prevents invasive plant encroachment. Mowing schedules are designed to align with seasonal growth patterns and minimize impacts on native plant species and pollinators.
• Brush Cutting & Tree Trimming: Overgrown trees and brush can obstruct sightlines, encroach on travel lanes, and pose risks during storms. Our crew conducts mechanical brush cutting and selective tree trimming to maintain safe clearance zones along roads.
• Herbicide Applications: Targeted herbicide treatments help manage noxious weeds and invasive plants that threaten native ecosystems and roadside stability. We follow best management practices to minimize environmental impact and comply with state and federal regulations.
• Erosion, Drainage, & Culvert Maintenance: Proper roadside drainage is essential for preventing flooding, road damage, and erosion. We maintain ditches, vegetative buffers, and culverts to ensure water flows efficiently and sediment buildup is minimized. Regular inspections and cleanouts help prevent blockages that could lead to washouts or infrastructure failures.
