The original photos were scanned at much higher
resolution than you will see here, and were decreased in size due to image load times. If

Here are notes on some of these pictures:
- 1892 - Rogers Bros.: Note on back says "Three Rogers
borthers & Dr. Goucher (Large man in front)." Depending on year, the building to
the left is either a saloon or a drug store (or both?)
- Bishop's Store: Taken in the 1880's, Looking Northerly from
Third towards Cowls st. Masonic Lodge on 2nd floor.
- Baker Street looking South - note the house on the corner:
it is still there, but moved slightly south and west toward center of block.
- Bird's Eye Views - 1915: Postcards, cancellation 2/28/1915,
all taken from Courthouse. In No.2, note Catholic School
- Bird's Eye View: Taken from Courthouse, looking NW(?)
- Bird's Eye View - Looking SW: Fenton House in foreground.
Christian Chruch center rear (Old Bapitst Church), taken from Courthouse
- Bird's Eye View - Looking SW 2: Slightly to the West of
first SW photo. Pioneer Hall upper left, taken from Courthouse
- Columbus School - torn down in 1930 upon completion of
replacement.
- County Road - 1911 #1 & #2: Westside Road near first
bridge northerly of McMinnville (over Baker Creek). Road had just been improved.
- Courthouse No.2: Dedication ceremony, 1918. Flags suspended
by cables.
- Courthouse No.3: this photo was later colorized and issued
as postcard. Photo taken before 1910.
- Courthouse No.4: this photo was taken during the 1950's -
notice the "new" Jail.
- Doctors and Nurses - 1911: Note on back says "2nd Row
2nd & 4th, Drs. E.E. Goucher - James T. Wood, 1st row, 2nd and 3rd, Esther Thompson
McCoun and Mrs. Warren, Superintendent."
- Evans Street - this was the old Grant St. (n. of Cozine Cr.)
& St. John St (s. of Cozine cr.)
- Firetruck in Parade: John Wagner driving.
- Frank Rogers home: was at 10th and Baker
- photo taken July 4, 1896
- Hauling Wood #1: Rollie
Smith hauled wood to the Steam powered electric plant on Baker Creek Road.
- Hauling Wood #2: Ernest
Shelburn
- Garden Club - Silver Tea event in December 1952
- Hospitals: Postcard, cancellation illegible. Note on side
says "Dorm on 3rd floor this building". Note on back indicates a nurse in
training put in 12 hours per day here.
- Model T Ford in Parade: Note on back says "Mabel
Garrison - front seat w/ white cap - back Mabel Lizzie Chown - Driver Mr. Hoskins (?)
Identified by Frank High" The name Sheridan can be read on the banner on original.
- Nestle's Food / Milk Co., was on 8th St., where R.B. Rubber
Products production plant now lies.
- Old Woodtruck: Note on back says "Our old woodsaw
truck, Dad hooked hooked the back end of a wagon wheels and we hauled from Riverside.
Ruth, Walter Brown and Warren Brown on load."
- Old & New Courthouse - courtesy the Salem Public Library
- Parade - 1916: Gale Vinton at the wheel

- Post-1902 Footbridge and Bridge over Cozine Creek: Taken
from near Southerly intersection of Adams and Baker, looking South. !902 map of
McMinnville shows "Proposed Footbridge."
- Powerhouse on Baker Creek: Bridge on right across Baker
Creek on Powerhouse Hill Road. Road in back of plant goes westerly towards Rainbow Lake.
- Sebastion Adams House: Note on back says this was
"located at 615 Baker St. Built by Adams in 1858. Decorative features added later by
Ben Hartman. Present owner L.B. Renard."
- Shadden House: This looks like what is now called the Judge
Grenfell House on Baker Cr. Rd near 1st bridge.(?)
- Street Scene 2: taken around July 4th (note fireworks
stand). Wells Fargo & Post Office shared same building.
- Street Improvements: believed to be looking North on Evans
at 4th street. Courthouse on left. Hendershott Collection.
- Strachan's combine - photo taken in Morrow County, but
Strauchen was local inventor.
- Third St. - 1907: Postcard, cancellation 12/30/1907.
- Tilbury and Fink: Note on back says "Leonard Fink on
left, his father on right."
- Watkins Parts Supply, owned by L.H. Watkins. Photo courtesy
of Tom & Ron Davison (grandsons), and Steve & Dan (GGrandsons), Davison Auto
Parts.
- Wortman's Airplane: 1919 Jenny, 1st airplane to land near
McMinnville. Mr. Wortman hired a pilot to ferry him about.
