Notes:
- 1883 Hagey School: This school was on the eastern outskirts of
town, northerly on Fox Farm Road on the right-hand side. It was actually the #3 school,
but Levi Hagey donated the property for the school, hence its common name.
- 1893 School: was added onto after the turn of the century. The
schools bell was donated to the war effort during the early 1940's, according to Leighton
Livengood.
- 1903 Street Scene: the railroad terminated at the Hudson House
plant, crossing Hwy. 99W near the present Community Center. It terminated on the South at
Fulquartz Landing on the Willamette.
- 1915 School - Add-on: this was the 3rd modification to this 1893
structure, resulting in a doubling in size, 4 rooms on both floors.
- 1946 aerial view: the lower road is 5th Street, the upper one is
3rd Street.
- Frozen River: probably taken from the Newberg Bridge after 1918.
- Post Office: later a barber shop, among other businesses, and
presently an antique shop. See 1978 Street scene.
- Prune Orchards: and Allen Fruit dryer. Noteon the back says this is
Red Hills Drive. Old Holzmeyer house on the right.
- Ramseys Mill: called Chehalem Valley Mill in this photo. This mill
was between Newberg & Dundee, n'ly of Dayton Avenue on Hess Creek.
