Our Mission

Yamhill County parks and open spaces are unique natural, cultural, and historic places to be managed, preserved, and restored for people to enjoy outdoor recreation and educational activities.

Staff

Parks Division Manager Ken Huffer joined Yamhill County Parks in March 2005. Ken oversees park system improvements, planning, maintenance operations, policy development, and programming. Ken also manages the Yamhill County Community Corrections Inmate Work Crew Program, which provide crews that maintain the County's park system. Parks staff works out of the Yamhill County Community Corrections Annex, located at 615 E. Sixth Street, McMinnville, OR 97128.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
Board Roles & Responsibilities

The Park and Recreation Board functions as the primary advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners on topics and subject matter directly related to the County Parks System.

Board Membership

Commitment: Board Members are appointed by the Yamhill County Board of Commissions to serve 4-year terms (limited to two terms). The board meets on a monthly basis in McMinnville and there is some committee work. From time-to-time, there are vacancies on the Parks Board so if you have time to donate and an interest in helping grow and preserve out county parks, please contact Yamhill County Parks.

Parks and Recreation Board Meetings

Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 5:30 PM in the Yamhill County Community Corrections Annex, Room 31, in McMinnville. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Meetings may be rescheduled or cancelled due to holidays or the lack of a quorum, to confirm the status of a meeting please call (503) 434-7463.
