One of Oregon's premier boating facilities on the majestic Willamette
River, this park offers expansive parking and a three-lane boat launch.
From land or water, Rogers Landing is one of Yamhill County's top
recreational resources. Many enjoy strolling the docks at sunset or
scanning the skies for blue heron, osprey, kingfishers, or migrating
geese. Located on the river's "Newberg Pool", the park is especially
popular with water skiers. In spring, fishermen brave the rain to catch
salmon near Ash Island, just south of the park. Rogers Landing will be a
key stop on the Willamette River Water Trail, a route that will tour
canoers and kayakers from Corvallis to Wilsonville, with opportunities
for hiking, camping, and exploring along the way.
Boat Launch Fees
Effective August 1, 2005, boaters will be required to pay a $3.00 launch fee
for the use of the boat launch at Rogers Landing. The launch fee is in effect
year-around, 7 days a week. The monies collected for the use of this facility
will be used to fund: maintenance and operation of the facility, minor upgrades
and improvements to the site, and build a contingency for replacement of the docks,
floats, ramp, restrooms, and other facilities as they reach the end of their lifespan.
Fees are to be paid at the self pay fee station, located near the launch, and the
permit must be clearly displayed in your vehicle's windshield. Failure to pay fees
will result in a citation.

History
Yamhill County leases Rogers Landing from S P Newsprint, Hard Rock
Enterprises, and the City of Newberg.
In late 2002, Yamhill County Parks completed major renovations at
Rogers Landing. The $1.4 million project was funded by grants from the
Oregon State Marine Board. The project began with installation of new
flush restrooms in 1992. Over the next decade, the park was overhauled
to include an improved access road and expanded parking, as well as a
three-lane cantilever ramp, transient tie-up, and debris boom. Staff and
volunteers continue to work on riparian planting projects to provide
native habitat for wildlife and shade for the river and banks.
Since 1956, the Newberg Boat Club has hosted its annual Memorial Day
Boat Races at Rogers Landing. The club organized marathon-style races on
the Willamette in the early 1940's and began the current circle-racing
format in 1948. The Memorial Day Boat Races are open to the public and
entrance is free for spectators.
