Yamhill County Juvenile Detention
allows public access in the form of tours conducted within the facility
Two styles of tours are conducted:
1. Mock admissions tours are individually designed to allow
youth to reflect upon what it would like to be detained in
an effort to encourage them to rethink their negative behaviors.
2. Informational tours are designed to educate the public about
detention operations and structure.
A parent, guardian or other adult such as a probation officer,
counselor, peer court, sanction court, judge or other appropriate
authority refers youth for a mock admissions tour by either
contacting or ordering the youth to contact the Detention's
tour coordinator. The Detention's tour coordinator schedules
tours during designated times within the programming schedule.
Any adult may request an informational tour of the facility.
Detained youth’s confidentiality is not compromised in
any tour situation.
To set up a tour call (503) 434-7407 and ask for the Tour Coordinator.
