Visitation Policy
The Yamhill County Juvenile Detention encourages visitation
between parents or guardians and detained juveniles and has regularly scheduled
visitation times for that purpose.
Detained youth are eligible for personal visits only after
completing the orientation process. Detained youth are eligible for professional
visits upon completing the admissions process. Only parents and guardian are
allowed to visit juveniles in detention during regular visiting days and times.
Exceptions to visiting policy are approved by the Juvenile Department Manager or
the Detention Supervisor or designee. All personal and professional visitors
are identified by picture identification. All visitors and their property are
subject to search.
A juvenile may refuse or terminate a visit at any time. Any
visit may be terminated at the discretion of the Detention Staff if rules
governing the visitation are violated or safety or security is jeopardized. All
personal visitors are required to check all purse, bags, and metal pocket
contents in the lockers provided.
No one under the age of eighteen will be allowed to visit.
All visits are authorized by the Probation/Parole Officer or Case Worker, Juvenile Department
Manager, Detention Supervisor or designee. Personal visits will be held in the
Visiting Room unless circumstances dictate a change which must be authorized by
the Detention Supervisor or designee.
