COMMUNITY SERVICE RULES SHEET

 

You will be graded on each of these five categories:  1. Attendance and Punctuality, 2. Attitude, 3. Work Effort, 4. Peer/Staff Relations and 5. Rules and Safety.  At the end of each day if you have any questions about your score, ask your crew leader.

 

These are the rules that are expected of you while you are on crew. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the loss of points on your work summary for the category in which it pertains.

 

  1. I will be at the pick-up point on time.
  2. I will cooperate with the work supervisors at all times.
  3. I will follow all instructions of the work supervisors.
  4. I will not have, use, or talk about alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or any drugs at the work site or during work hours.
  5. Lighters, matches, knives, weapons, sharp objects and electronic devises of any kind are strictly forbidden on crew.
  6. I will not curse or use obscene gestures (hand signals) during work hours.
  7. I will not make degrading comments, argue or fight with crew leaders or other crewmembers.
  8. I will work safely and to the best of my ability.
  9. I will wear all safety equipment at all times on the work site unless instructed otherwise by the crew leaders.
  10. I will respect all tools by placing them with their handles up at the work site when I am not using them.
  11. I will not destroy any property or kill any animals at the work site. Deliberate destruction of tools or equipment will result in reimbursing the county for the cost of the tool or equipment.
  12. I will not steal from the work site, from crewmembers or crew leaders.
  13. I will wear job appropriate clothing to the work site.
  14. I will not leave the work site without a crew leader or without a crew leader's permission.
  15. I will bring a sack lunch and plenty of water for an all day job.
  16. I will not ask the crew leaders for the time or whether its time for break or lunch. They will let YOU know!
  17. I will refer to the crew leaders as Sir or Mister, Miss or Ma’am.


Allergies or Medications

If you have any allergies or take medications, you need to notify staff now.

 

ATTENDANCE

All workers will report to their respective pick-up points five minutes before starting time. If you are ill or have an emergency you must contact the Juvenile Department, 434-7512 x4433, on or before your absence. All absences must be excused by a signed note or by direct communication with parents or guardians. Anything less is unacceptable!
