Yamhill County Fair & Rodeo History

“Oregon’s Oldest Fair”

Welcome to the website for the Oldest County Fair in Oregon. The first fair in Yamhill County was October 7, 1854 and was held in Lafayette, Oregon. It was sponsored by the Yamhill County Agricultural Society, which formed in 1853. That first fair included bed quilts, butter, cheese, vegetables, cattle, sheep, hogs, farm implements, horses, mules and so much more.

Later it was moved to the present location. Our current location is on 30 acres easily located right off of highway 99W. We are in the center of Yamhill County in the heart of wine country. We host the Yamhill County Fair and Rodeo each year and a variety of events throughout the year to include trade shows, conferences, parties, banquets, horse shows, dog shows. We have a year round facility and plan to continually offer a variety of events.

ADEC Building – Exhibit Hall – 8,000 square foot building with kitchen facilities available for banquets, wedding receptions, conferences or trade shows.

DELASHMUTT Arena – Indoor lighted arena 100x200 with announcer Sound Room. Seating for 1,000; restrooms and concession stand. Used for many different horse shows, rodeos, available for open riding when not rented.

DRADER Arena – Outdoor warm-up arena adjacent to Delashmutt. It is 100x100 and can be rented separately or in conjunction with the Delashmutt Arena.

WHITMAN OUTDOOR Arena – This is a seasonal arena of 140 x 285 and is home to the Yamhill County Rodeo. The bleachers seat 4,000 and includes a crows nest announcer booth.
