1855 Military Blockhouse: In the Dayton public square. Originally
located at Fort Yamhill (1855-1866). This blockhouse was moved from the
Fort to Grand Ronde Agency in the 1860's where it served as a jail.
In 1911 it was moved to Dayton where it has been maintained since.
County Historical Museum: In Lafayette, northerly of Hwy. 99,
at 605 Market Street. Open to the public Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
from June 14 through Labor Day, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through
Sunday the rest of the year.
Glacial Erratic Rock: Lies about 6 miles southwesterly of McMinnville
on Highway 18. During the ice age, this non-indigenous rock arrived at
it's current location on an iceberg which floated down from the Columbia
River. Be prepared for a short but somewhat steep hike westerly from
Highway 18 to the rock.
