Project Goals
The purpose of this project
is to complete a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for
1. Provide opportunities for
meaningful discussions among agency representatives regarding their priorities
for wildfire protection. Involve local,
state, and federal government representatives and interested citizens in the
process.
2. Identify and evaluate
hazardous fuel conditions in wildland-urban interface areas. Prioritize areas for fuel reduction
treatments. Identify a wildland-urban
interface boundary for at-risk communities.

ignitability and recommend measures that homeowners can take to reduce the
ignitability of structures. Better
prepare
4. Evaluate the wildfire
response capability of fire districts and recommend measures to strengthen
their capability.

respective fire districts and communities eligible for funding assistance to
reduce wildfire hazards and to prepare residents for wildfire situations
(National Fire Plan, Healthy Forest Restoration Act, FEMA and other sources).
